Volunteers

The Volunteer Program

Our volunteer program is a fantastic way to take part in Dutch JavaScript Conference (DJS Conf)—letting you attend sessions, meet speakers, and connect with 800+ attendees without the cost of registration or the need to be present for all three conference days.

We rely on volunteers to handle many light but critical duties that keep the event running smoothly.

Typical volunteer tasks include:

  • Assembling registration packets and badges
  • Checking-in speakers and attendees at registration
  • Assisting speakers with A/V and room setup
  • Making brief announcements at the start of sessions
  • Holding up “time remaining” cards for speakers
  • Staffing the information desk and answering questions
  • Generally being on hand to do whatever is needed

“I handed out swag, watched coats and bags, and helped attendees find everything from the main stage to their lost phone. There's still plenty of time to attend talks and have deep hallway conversations. It's an amazing way to give back while attending for free!”

Some tasks happen during sessions and others do not, but we make sure each volunteer spends at least half of their shift in sessions of their choice.

“My first year I had no idea what to expect, but the staff made me feel like part of the team from day one. Volunteering gives you a whole new perspective on how conferences run and lets you interact with speakers on a personal level.”

Volunteer Registration

It's ideal if you can join us for multiple days—especially the weekend before the conference for volunteer training and early check-in—but we can often work with single-day availability.

Registration Closed

Thank you for your interest! The volunteer application deadline for DJS Conf 2025 has passed and all positions have been filled.
